چکیده

This work initiates an analysis of several cryptographic protocols from a rational point of view using a game-theoretical approach, which allows us to represent not only the protocols but also possible misbehaviours of parties. Concretely, several concepts of two-person games and of twoparty cryptographic protocols are here combined in order to model the latters as the formers. One of the main advantages of analysing a cryptographic protocol in the game-theory setting is the possibility of describing improved and stronger cryptographic solutions because possible adversarial behaviours may be taken into account directly. With those tools, protocols can be studied in a malicious model in order to find equilibrium conditions that make possible to protect honest parties against all possible strategies of adversaries.

Secure Computation with Fixed-Point Numbers

Secure computation is a promising approach to business problems in which several parties want to run a joint application and cannot reveal their inputs. Secure computation preserves the privacy of input data using cryptographic protocols, allowing the parties to obtain the benefits of data sharing and at the same time avoid the associated risks. These business applications need protocols that s...

A short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving

In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...

Nature-Inspired Synthesis of Rational Protocols

Rational cryptography is an emerging field which combines aspects traditionally related to security with concepts described in economic theoretical frameworks. For example, it applies game theory concepts to address security problems arising when executing cryptographic protocols. The aim is to replace the assumption of a worst–case attacker by the notion of rational agents that try to maximize...

Design of cybernetic metamodel of cryptographic algorithms and ranking of its supporting components using ELECTRE III method

Nowadays, achieving desirable and stable security in networks with national and organizational scope and even in sensitive information systems, should be based on a systematic and comprehensive method and should be done step by step. Cryptography is the most important mechanism for securing information. a cryptographic system consists of three main components: cryptographic algorithms, cryptogr...

Process algebraic modeling of authentication protocols for analysis of parallel multi-session executions

Many security protocols have the aim of authenticating one agent acting as initiator to another agent acting as responder and vice versa. Sometimes, the authentication fails because of executing several parallel sessions of a protocol, and because an agent may play both the initiator and responder role in parallel sessions. We take advantage of the notion of transition systems to specify authen...
